Trash (Non-Household Garbage)

 

Trash includes large items such as:

  1. Furniture  (i.e. sofas, chairs, etc.) | Any glass in the item must be removed and disposed of separately.
  2. Appliances
  3. Rugs
  4. Mattresses 

Trash also includes:

  1. Cardboard Boxes | Only if broken down and placed in trash bags. 
  2. Leaves
  3. Limbs
  4. Yard Debris | Yard Debris/Limb for a list of acceptable items , These items must be set separately from Trash Items

Trash Does Not Include:

  1. Electronics
  2. Televisions
  3. Glass (or anything with glass in it)
     

Any items not accepted by the City of York may be disposed of at your local
York County Convenience Center


Items such as furniture are collected once per week on the same day as your garbage collection and may be placed on the curbside for pick up.
 

  • Appliances and metal should be kept separate from trash so they can be picked up separately. 
  •  No construction/destruction debris will be collected by the city. (Code 1977 10-21.2) Sec. 36-46, (Code 1977 10-21.3) Sec. 36-47.
