A burn permit is required if you wish to burn approved items within the City of York. Call the York Fire Department at 803-684-2341, option 7 for a burn permit. Once you obtain a burn permit, the Fire Department will come and inspect your burn site and the materials to be burned. There is no fee to obtain a burn permit.
Contact the South Carolina Forestry Commission to obtain a burn permit if you wish to burn items in the unincorporated areas of York County.
